 2009 VBS
The theme of Vacation Bible School 2009 was John Bunyan’s Holy War. Over 100 children came each day to learn the Scriptures, sing Bible songs, enjoy crafts, and participate in activities. Each child was given a copy of The War for Mansoul, which is Ethel Barrett’s telling of Bunyan’s work.
Bruce Byers wrote an insert for the books. It aptly sums up the VBS: “The Bible tells us to ‘fight the good fight of faith’ (1 Timothy 6:12). As Christians we battle every day against Satan, worldly influences, and our own sinful desires. This book tells the story of the Christian’s warfare and reminds us that our help comes only from the Lord. Our prayer is that you would rely more and more each day on Christ Jesus to give you victory in your spiritual battles.”
The funds raised during VBS went toward the Gospel of John project for Greenville. The children were delighted to be able to participate in this ministry. |
